Maya Romanoff

Growing from an artist’s studio into an award winning manufacturer of hand crafted wall coverings, Maya Romanoff needed to expand its operations  – Interwork helped convert a vacant, forty year old warehouse into a modern office that expressed their studio roots while providing up to date manufacturing space  – still reminiscent of the 19th century William Morris wallpaper  factory. Hanging “festoons” of drying wall paper inspired the office’s over sized fabric wrapped sliding panels with exposed industrial hardware.  Layers of Maya Romanoff fabrics, layers of patterned carpets and simple gallery white walls create a workspace that expresses the very distinct personality at the core of their mission and culture.  In addition to office design and building design that re-imaged the building exterior and site,  work included  pre-purchase due-diligence, solving manufacturing, warehouse and logistics processes, and major upgrades to building systems.
