Richard Gordon

A founding partner of Interwork Architects, Rich is responsible for numerous projects and major client relationships.  Projects include new office and retail facilities as well as corporate and medical interiors. In addition to his business responsibilities, he is currently leading Interwork’s team for an expanding national retailer, developing tenant improvement and new build to suit stores throughout the United States. Rich is a licensed architect in nearly 40 states and is NCARB certified, approved by the City of Chicago for its Self-Certification program and as a Registered Energy Professional. An AIA member, he has played a leadership role in public commissions and community activities; one of which, led to an Interwork project published in Inc. magazine. Rich’s Bachelor of Architecture is from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Outside interests: Travel, wine, cooking, sports, and playing with his grandson!

Person I would have love to meet: Thomas Jefferson, a true renaissance man. 

If I weren’t an architect I’d be: A baseball manager, or a stand up comic.
