Having out grown their existing 400,000sf distribution warehouse, Snap-On Tools looked to Interwork Architects to assist in minimizing an increased footprint, while attempting to double the available space for product storage. The new warehouse addition, constructed of insulated metal panels, is less than half the size of the existing building but twice the height. Snap-On is now able to utilize a 30-foot tall racking system and has 21 additional loading docks to aide in the movement of additional product on a daily basis.
Interwork was involved in the design process from the beginning which included studying site conditions and placing the addition in the optimum location. Initial planning, development of the design, and investigation of options for maximizing space while minimizing cost all lead to the final construction documents and permit approval.
